My name is Maria Lakenman.
Last year I graduated from the HKU. I studied Urban Interior Architecture and I have done Graphic Design. In recent years I have worked extensively as a photographer, did activities with children in different kind of ways and made a number of (art) projects.
I recently returned from Rio de Janeiro where we did volunteer work for five months. This period has strengthened my fascination and motivation for a contribution to the society in Rio de Janeiro.
I realize that the opportunities that we have in the Netherlands are not the same for the people there.
The key for me is share knowledge, passion, enthusiasm, motivation, hope and warmth.
On the one hand we want to secure better living conditions in Rio de Janeiro.
On the other hand the project provides for enrichment of knowledge and culture for people in the Netherlands and Rio de Janeiro.
Through this project, the Netherlands and Rio de Janeiro will become closer.
Together with the organizations AMAR, CEASM, stichting Grenzeloos and the help of Angela Ramsoedh, Ben van Brunschot, Ineke Ligthart and semmie Mostard (people with I have been volunteering with in the previous project) we want to make this become eality!
